Wouldn’t “kiss” be a dirty word in a society of “no touchies”? That scene with Abeille caling that Klimt’s painting “dirty” comes to mind. Wouldn’t this be like making a mnemonic out of “D. I. C. K.” and hanging it in a counselor’s office?? hahaha
I wonder maybe it’s lost meaning in that way because it is no longer associated with intimacy? Or rather, touch isn’t associated with intimacy.
Or if it’s just an antiquated quirk of language, a whatchamacallit…? Anachronism? Like saying rewind even though we’re not using magnetic tape media anymore. Or in a metric society still using idioms like ‘talking a mile a minute’.
What would the counsellor’s acrostic for D.I.C.K be though? Hmmm…
