When this plotline started gaining its own stake in the world, I was a bit miffed. It was cute, but I was here for Abeile. I thought the whole Ivy-Holly-Asher thing was going to be some love triangle. Which it has turned into, in the best possible way. This what a true love triangle should be.
I was very impressed and I agree, it seems like a very healthy outcome. I’ve been thinking about it ever since and my thoughts about relationships between more than 2 people and how that relates to relationships in general.
With sex being mundane and Abeille not finding love in touching just anybody, it seems to me like the 3 have very different anxieties than people I’ve known.
Holly didn’t want sex and have a problem with commitment, it seemed like he was afraid of a romantic facade and affection that comes with sincere touch, though I’m still unsure about what happened with Verbena.
Ivy didn’t just want touch.
Jealousy seems different to me, with sex being mundane and romance being foreign.
Ivy-Holly-Aster have a rock solid asexual/aromantic bond. It’s very beautiful how Ivy and Holly came to that without disrupting the closeness of Ivy and Aster, and then came out the other side where they are affectionate together with confidence, so far, maybe.
I mean, she did say Holly is amazing at sex. 😉
