That was very important for Miel to say about her strength, even if Abeille wasn’t ready to hear it. (And now I wish I read this episode with more space between it & today’s therapy session but such is life…)
And seriously? If I had a friend with such a narcissistic parent it would be a struggle not to kick them. Abeille’s mother crosses so many lines it makes me ill.
A week of crying, for me, I guess. Or, more crying because of what’s happening in the world. Abeille might not have been taught that she’s less of a human for showing that she feels hurt, as I think I was. She is stronger than I’ve been, I think. Maybe there is something wrong in how Miel has acted, I’m not sure if it is social conventions or the fact that we have to carve out a time and space to speak words into the air to communicate some things or a failing on his part. It will be interesting to see what happens.
I hate how all of Abeille’s tactics for dealing with her mother’s attempts to control her get twisted around by her mother into flaws. Her mother won’t let Abeille say no or have boundaries, so all Abeille is left with is various types of avoidance. This is a very well done and nuanced picture of abuse.
Also, it is wonderful to have Miel reflecting a different perspective to Abeille.
There’s so much to love about this, but what stands out to me is Abeille’s expression in panel 3. You’ve conveyed so much complex and painful emotion with a few skillful lines.

Larry gets some sort of prize, I think, for guessing that Miel would think Abeille knows about the job offer. https://lovenotfound.com/comic/ch18-p37/#comment-2435
Thanks, Kenned!

2 also. I agree.
Atta boy Miel, get straight to the point while ya’ll have time.
Nooooo! I started reading this a week ago and now I’m all up to date! Argh, I love this so so much!
I hope everything with Miel and Abeille works out… And I hate Abielle’s mother! Ugh!
