Amaryllis is probably going to interpret this as Miel “corrupting” her daughter. She was already predisposed to dislike him, because he’s helping Abeille stand up for herself, and she’s the type of parent who sees their kid establishing *any* kind of boundary with them as a terrible sign.
Well, time to learn that what adults do in their spare time is none of your business. Also, I don’t know about Eyebright, but at the previous places I worked, if someone came up to you looking for a coworker by name, unless you KNEW that person and KNEW their relationship to your coworker, you did NOT tell the person where they were because for all you knew, they could be a stalker. We had that stuff happen.
Well, time to learn that what adults do in their spare time is none of your business.
Children are never adults in the “none of your business” sense. Particularly not Amaryllis’ ones, I’d guess.
This whole setting has different boundries than modern day. Meil can show his girl his moms’ erotic antiques, but almost no one touches. Ivy’s mom got to dictate Ivy’s eyes. Abiel’s friendship with Poppy now seems to be a shadow of the overbearing realationship Abiel and Mom have. Can you work late tonight?
Hoping with all of my heart that they are able to stand up for themselves and tell everyone to mind their own business and stop manipulating.
I’d especially would love a “I’m not going to talk to you again Mom until you are willing to treat me like an adult,” but I’m guessing things are going to be a bit messier.
They might feel embarassed, but I sure hope Miel and Abielle don’t split because of those two vultures. I don’t know if Miel’s boss is of such bad character that he will deny Miel the job because he can’t “have” Miel, but I doubt it’s going to be pleasant for Miel going forward unless he leaves the planet. So long as he and Abielle stay together, they’ll be fine, one way or another. 🙂
I don’t think it’s likely that Miel and Abielle will split up. They have a pretty solid relationship and are good at working things out when they take the time to communicate properly. I’m *certain* this will put a strain on both of them, though.
XD A little bit, yes. It’s literally the first line of the comic description on the “about” page, too: “LOVE NOT FOUND is a story about a young woman living in a time when touching has become outdated.”
And yeah, Abeille literally running into Miel is what kicked the whole plot into motion too. It’s how they noticed how a touch feels at all.
The thoughts about the touching taboo in the story don’t look like dumb questions to me. Touch relates to many things and it’s not simple at all. I hope that no one feels smitten for their thoughts contributing to this amazing commentary people are creating. I certainly admire it.
Really, this story is such a jewel and I’m annoying too often about it. I think Gina Biggs should be praised for this amazing art that she is giving us. She does get paid for the impossible seeming amount of work she does while raising children and helping new artists grow. But, it seems mostly done out of love for the art and the community that includes us all. I am inspired and truly grateful to her and the people who she helps to spread goodness still further with even more impossible seeming work running a comics business, charming filthy figments, that is only art made by women and non-binary people, amplifying the voices of the otherwise voiceless among us who are our mothers, sisters, fathers and brothers sometimes not by their own choice. If you have not seen it I think it would be very good or you to look into it because every work is healthy and the work is exquisite.
C’mon y’all, let’s not shame a new reader. I’ve definitely missed major plot points in a long-running comic before. Better “late” than never! Welcome to the community, MistLynx! ?
Well, time to accept that job offer and run away together!
If the job is even available anymore now that the boss knows that Miel is “a deviant” by their society’s standards.
Welp, that happened.
Welp, this is about to become a big mess.

I had a parent just like this and it made me doubt just avout every partner I was with. Her gaslighting is f***ing poisonous.

WEEEEEEEELP…. Crap… Abeille and Miel are up for a baaad ride…
Wow, that’s the se0ccond time they got caught touching. You’d think that after Poppy made a big stink about it they would’ve been more careful.

It’s time for the ultimate showdown!

I feel like I missed something along the way about touching being taboo.
Probably, since touching is the first subject brought up in the comic when it started. Chapter 1.
SUDDEN BRAIN-WAVE!!!
Gina is a time traveller.
The early beginnings of the no-touching taboo began in 2020, during a pandemic outbreak….

Like for real? Is kinda like the main subject all of the stories are all about and how the character development is made in this webcomic :/
