Ch18 P50
And the dreaded “To be continued…” appears on the screen! Chapter 18 is complete. Acier’s got some irate guest to deal with, Miel’s got some big guilt to deal with, and Abeille’s got some big familial issues to confront!
I’ll be working on the script for Chapter 19 over the next month (and working on getting the Kickstarter for Love Not Found volume 2 ready)!
Oh boy, This makes me so glad that my mother was Never like that.
Whew! Now some of my fingernails might be left in a month. What a sweetheart!
Poppy sure has changed. Communication might seem risky, but it’s the only way to heal, I think.
I think one of the word bubbles in the last panel should be pointing to Meil…
As for my reaction to the content, I am speechless
Tulip and Poppy are dating, I think. Seems like a Poppy answer, to me.
I have the suspicion that while Mr Acier is quite determined to deal with this situation right away, he’ll need the better part of a month to figure out just how. Fortunately the storyline will be put on hold while he does.
Oh no, poor babes. I feel so bad for them, why aren’t they just allowed to be happy? I’m Frowning at you, mother! From one mom to another, no! Bad mom, bad! I’ll be waiting desperately for the end of break!! Enjoy your time off!!
see him in your office WHY?
He’s not currently at work, and it’s currently not work hours.
I hope it’s more of a “it’s a private place nearby where they can talk things over without the public interfering” and less of a “your conduct both on and off the job is a reflection of us and the work we do, sort your stuff out or you’re fired” sort of reason… D:
It probably falls under the guise of posting something stupid on social media. It’s you’re off time but you are representing the company as well as yourself.
I also like to think that with their working relationship/friendship that he want’s to have a conversation with Miel about him breaking a social taboo. Not just give a lecture about the immorality in eyes of society.
Still a hope in me that Acier is earnestly trying to solve the situation as the (seemingly) only responsible, cool-headed adult in the room.
My estimation of his plan so far:
1. Talk down the crazy mother in a private venue
2. Get Abeille out of there and take her to Miel
3. Talk with them both about the transfer, propose a position for Miel’s girlfriend so they can go together
4. Promise to not disclose their location to Abeille’s parents anymore
I believe in his good will!
I love that. The scene with Flore and Ms. Frelon might have been indicating something positive about Mr. Acier.
He’s already tried to sabotage their relationship by relocating Abielle when he saw that Miel was enamored with her and not wanting to work as much over time… I kind of have very little faith in his goodwill. I expect him to tell him he has to break ties with Abielle for good or face some sort of work-related consequence. This seems more like him preparing to give an ultimatum. I wouldn’t be surprised if Abielle got fired.
Yes, I am shocked by comments that believe Mr. Acier (I finally just realized that might mean “rosehip”) is a benevolent force who wants to help. I could be wrong (and pleasantly surprised) but he seems controlling at best, possibly jealous and hopefully not outright malevolent. He’s interfered before, and now he seemed all to happy to direct Abeille’s hysterical mother to find her, inserting himself into the situation in the process. Now it seems like Miel might be work-punished for this. (And they wouldn’t have likely been discovered at all, if not for Mr. Acier.) As yet, I have no reason to believe in his goodwill… it’ll would be nice to be wrong but I find it unlikely.
I’m a broken record, but it seems important, to me. People are motivated by multiple things. Stories for little children, and historical archetypes, are where heroes and villains are found. Recent children’s stories are getting away from that too, e.g. She-ra and the princesses of power and Kipo and the age of wonderbeasts. In reality, it’s disrespectful to worship someone, and counter productive to demonize people.
People have good and bad traits. What is irredeemable is the actions good people take, when the actions are wrong.
I don’t believe he’s TRYING to be a villain, but I have no reason to believe based on his behavior once he realized Miel was getting too distracted by Abielle to live for his work and for his work alone anymore that he has and will use his position to separate them if given the chance, and this seems like a chance given to him on a silver platter. He may have romantic interest i Miel, he may not. It could just be he’s married to his work and he likes that Miel was the same way and having the support, and he wants it back.
The two opposing ideas that you pose there are what I agree with. It’s probably wise to be more focused on where the story will lead than I am being. Because the comments range from guessing what’s next in the story, to people talking about their life experiences, I start to comment about life experiences.
I think there are no villains in the world, not that Dr. Acier could be trying to be a villain.
There are sociopaths, supposedly, who may never change significantly, in their life time. But, within them is a good person, while their actions are bad. That never means excusing their behavior as is the case with our loved ones and partners.
That relates to the story too, because if I’m enraged about a character I might be blind to nuances in the story.
If anyone could understand and be supportive, it would be Tulip and Poppy. Ivy and Aster and Holly as well, but they wouldn’t be around right now. I hope that Miel and Abeille can just, you know, be…
At times this comic amazes me by how ‘human’ the interactions are, not shallow or fake. Just the way Miel is contrite regret for his honest feelings.
I’ so thankful my parents are about the exact opposite of Abellie’s mom. Their child rearing philosophy is ‘we raised em right, now let them live and learn from their own mistakes’ but in a very loving way, not negligent, and they’re always there to bail you out if needed. Though, mom can be a bit nosey at times… must be a mom thing.
Soooo excited for the Kickstarter!!
Miel’s been waiting in that office about three weeks now. Has anyone looked in to see if he’s still breathing?
Could you please become a clothing designer on the side? 😀 <3
Totally agree! Patreon subscribers get to see fashion posts.
looking forward to the kickstarter and chapter 19! thank you for all the wonderful hard work you do making this a reality for all of us <3
