I’m staring at Poppy’s art work, and must ask, as I do not cook or bake: Is that how you actually pipe out frosting or whatnot? She seems like she’s strangling the top, and I would think you’d have the other hand near the bottom. Not quite on the end, so you don’t get your hands in the frosting, but at least so you could guide it better? Am I wrong?
I would also be terrible and be eating the failed hearts. Mmm…Frosting.
Actually, Poppy is half right, you twist the pipping bag to prevent the contents from spilling from the top, then squeeze from the top and the hand at the bottom is to guide it. And as the pipping bag empties you keep twisting the top to move your hand along.
I love Poppy’s expressions! And, Tulip’s reactions. She looks like a kid, not self-conscious in the slightest. The abrupt shoving in the last panel is kid-like too. Tulip looks like a very patient teacher.
I’ve had the feeling that Tulip’s attention is a few steps beyond where Poppy is looking, through out.
Knowing her backstory, I suppose it still is, indeed. It’s so nice to see Tulip ready to help her with it but also (in what I imagine follows) to tell her that she will have to participate in order to heal – er, to make dessert, I mean of course. This is a really nice way to tell that relationship story 🙂
Also, let’s nor forget that Abeille is still with Acier right now—!
Poppy. POPPY. TAKE A CUE!

Yeah, she’s totally holding it wrong XD She definitely needs a little guidance here!

If you look though, Tulip aready had the piping bag twisted at the top before she handed it to Poppy.

When you literally hand your girlfriend an opportunity to get up close and personal
Oh Poppy you naive cute soul, Tulip is offering to hold your hands and do it WITH YOU
The focus look of panel two! As always, lovely art and lovely story! <3
“Sorry. That heart is a bit of a mess.” – Poppy

“assistance” as in “yes, please do it for me” vs “support me in doing it better myself”
