I wish I could articulate what this page says to me…
The last panel reminds me of their meeting/collision and how she took it https://lovenotfound.com/comic/ch01-p03a/ Miel is worried and wanting to flee, but her reaction was to go after him and suggest, let’s do this colliding thing more.
“You’re right” reminds me of Abeille and Miel at the apple festival https://lovenotfound.com/comic/ch15-p41/ and many pages from when Amaryllis confronted Abeille and Miel’s family.
Our super surfer girl. When confronted with people in which communication can’t be coherent, she does the right thing. She doesn’t commit to anything that isn’t real. She doesn’t appease, people, certainly not her beloved.
I have an inexplicable feeling of dread now. It’s probably because of this comment. But, I think there are a few story arcs that didn’t seem completed, still.
I don’t know Gina’s intention, but I can see this story expanding out of this beginning phase. There have been constraints all this time: Miel’s career aspirations and toeing the line to realise them, Abeille’s family situation trying to shut down her new freedom, the societal taboos forcing them to hide, … Those constraints have done what they can to them (mostly – Amaryllis is done with them yet), and they are now FREE to forge something else. The benign plant folk are puzzled by the lack of connection humans have – maybe Miel and Abeille can help forge a new way.
I’m probably the only one who felt a mix of dread and joy at the last two panels. Every time they’ve broken the taboo in public Bad Things Happened, yet I’m delighted to see them so supportive of each other. But seeing Abeille throw caution to the wind and openly display an offensive/disgusting act of physical intimacy in public moments after they’ve both been fired for doing the same thing at a company sponsored public event, because of her *mother*, who had enough influence/verbal ammunition to sway the possible CEO of a planet-wide company, and who is also still in the city SOMEWHERE…
It’s probably because I’m a more cautious personality and PDA isn’t my thing anyway, but omg I just want to scream at them right now. It’s like watching the cute couple in the horror movie relax way too early and start hugging while the monster lying ten feet away may or may not be dead yet. SAFETY FIRST, SNOG LATER!
Atta girl! Let’s see what idea she has cookin’ up hehe.
Public handholding! And out of joy! Now they don’t have to care!
omggggg Abeille, what are you up to!!???

Or I’m having a squee moment.
I love how happy and mischievous Abeille looks in the fourth panel. Miel’s helped her get past a bit of her mama trauma.
I hope Miel makes her a little garden plot at home.
I feel this story winding down, and that makes me sad. I want to stay in this world. I’m so happy for them.

These two are perfect for each other. <3
