Ooh that’s interesting. Miel’s breath is condensing, but Abeille’s isn’t. If Abeille’s core temperature is higher (thanks to thermogenesis), then surely her breath should be condensing too (as her exhale will also be higher than the surrounding environment.
Unless of course this indicates that Miel’s temperature is even higher – a fever?
When I was drawing it, I had been thinking in visual short-hand to give the feeling that he was cold and she wasn’t, but we’ll chalk this one up to artistic error. I edited the page to include her breath ^_^;
she can respect his choice to deal wtih that alone after she offered to accompany him?
I do wonder what’s on her mind though. She’s been known to make a good face to bad game
Yeah I know that feel… hold it together to keep the other person’s emotions stable, then go ugly-cry alone where your feelings can’t effect anyone else.
I wonder if she’s going to tell her mom off? I want her to go and set a boundary with mom and show that mom’s ploy didn’t work and she wont get her way.
Her mom’s plot didn’t work? “There’s a world of pain in it for you if you dare cross me.” seemed to work out quite fine so far. It’s not like her mom actually wants harmony. She relishes the opportunity to put Abeille in her place. It gives her purpose.
At any rate: nothing good can really come of her communicating with her mom. The gratification of her mom’s machination relies on feedback. The only meaningful reaction is to stop interacting with her in any manner. Get a restraining order (or this world’s equivalent), let her only talk to lawyers and do any interaction on the record and with independent witnesses.
The parental support she loses in that manner, material and emotional, seems like a price worth paying for a life of her own.
You know, I see her as the type who can’t defend herself. But the moment she sees someone she loves needs defending she will rise up and kick behinds left, right and CENTER!!!
It’s part of what makes Abeille so sweet. Someone who is not self-centered. Mom’s are often like this.
People can be not self-centered while also taking better care of themselves. I think not considering herself worth defending is part of it. She could change that and still neglect herself because she is not self-centered.
Oh dear, is it starting to snow?
Uh oh… I hope he isn’t getting sick! Just when they have their whole future ahead of them. T_T
And they never saw each other again.

That’s exactly what is making me think that maybe he’s sick… Guess not. x)
How can she *not* go with him?

Yeah, her face is concerning, in the last panel.
I love the lighting on the bridge.

That ever-present fear of ruining his life.

Not so much “can’t” defend herself as “doesn’t consider herself worth defending” (though Miel’s slowly changing that.)
