Her mom gave it to her after embarrassing her at dinner with Mielle’s parents; she was trying to tell her mom off for her behaviour, and then gift: https://lovenotfound.com/comic/ch16-p50/
Thanks for the link! I didn’t remember what it was either. I did a fair chunk of chapter reread, and it was interesting to see that last page with the sno-glo lamp, compared to this one. In that, she is alone, upset, spiraling from ambiguous feelings about her mother’s gift vs actions. In this page she is comforted, loved, with someone she trusts–and possibly still feeling ambiguous about her mother, but maybe less so.
Blue and Bruce there’s a wiki (of possibly several) that helps me to find stuff. I vaguely remember Mom gave Abeille a lamp. So, looking here https://lovenotfound-fans.fandom.com/wiki/Amaryllis there are pages where she was mentioned.
There are timelines, in the same wiki, that were supposed to be like story arcs. There are so many. In theory there could be the sno-glo lamp story arc, but there isn’t yet.

Thanks for this link. I’ve been following Love Not Found since about page 3 and I had forgotten all of this. I definitely need to reread from the beginning again.
I believe that is a glowy lamp that Abiele’s mother gave her. Hopefully it will not be a constant reminder of her control, but rather a symbol of all the good things of her birth planet.
Yes, it’s the snow-glo lamp. But, the stunning art on this page… It’s beautiful!
I love Brandon’s comment on fb. Miel is stealing all the covers! Hehe. Lucky us. It makes sense of course, since Abeille is one hot chick on Monotropa.
Two bright lights: Miel’s plant and the snow-glo lamp from Mom. We saw it sitting there right after Abeille returned from skating. Maybe she will throw it out. Or it will sit there.
Abeille is a sentient and loving person and she is very strong, like super-Abeille or wonder Abeille (Ultra Abeille). She’s super-girl so of course she’s not going to be so weak as to have a snow-glo lamp be her cryptonite.
But, it’s also ok if she is annoyed by it. Maybe this is one of those I want to sabotage my life now moments because things aren’t right. That’s what magical girls do. Of course she will come out stronger but, honestly things look pretty good to me now.
Panel 3 might be my favorite. Thinking by herself. Both her strength and a weakness. But, certainly her strength. Determination. She has to mean what she does. It has to make sense to her. She can’t depend on others, since she hasn’t been able to depend on others. It’s how she is so loving. A beautiful person.
It appears that the Vitamix blender is ringing 🙂 *Kudos* to Gina for the vibrancy of the artwork in recent issues. I’m fond of the lighting effects and the prettiness of the characters.
I guess I’m the only one not hoping she’ll get rid of the sno-glow lamp. You can hold onto objects without it meaning you want to hold onto the person who have it to you. If she’s conflicted or unhappy about it–sure, don’t keep it. But she loved the snow, her home, the cold, and the Sirens… I think it’s okay to keep a part of her past as a reminder of what was. It’s where she came from… that can be both good and bad.
I’m not saying she needs to keep it, just that I don’t feel a burning desire for her to toss it either.
I’m not sure but it looks like Miels plant has started to die since the snow globe was brought into the room… Im hoping it isnt somehow tied to the globe itself
I think it is too but I guess the cover page for first date (almostook like roses) and here (bent but less of a wide arch more of a quick qrch) suggest something healthuer than the type of arch on this page: https://lovenotfound.com/comic/ch10-p27/ This looked like the stem had more vertical tendencies?Im not talking about the flower head itself? Could also just be different stages of flower heaviness/angle.
Abeille moved it from the table anyway: https://lovenotfound.com/comic/ch16-p51/ I think the plant looks roughly the same as it was on that page. But it’s an appealing theory that it’s going to harm the early symbol of Abeille and Miel’s relationship.
The lamp seems to have buttons on it, maybe to change the brightness. It’s fun how much suspicion it gets and the theories that come up because of it.
Personally, I want her to get rid of it. It was given to her by her toxic mother. Keeping a hold of something from someone like that can be emotionally draining. After all, she doesn’t really need it as a reminder of the things she loved at home when she now has her skates given to her by her father, who genuinely hase always cared for her.
Which is a really interesting contrast actually.
Toxic Mother – Gives gift of her Environment, which coincidentally also killed her sister, which was “her fault”. “Showy” and intrusive, and given in a timely fashion to diffuse an attack on the gifter
Genuine Father – Gives gift of a fond hobby, a source of warm memories and joy. Humble and given in a timely fashion to diffuse an attack on the giftee
For me, there are stages of grief. Imagining I was Abeille, if I were at the point where the lamp isn’t something I am going to react to in a way that hurts me, then keeping it could be good. If I am at the stage where I react with grief when I see it, but could process that, keeping the lamp could be helpful. If I am at the stage where I will react by obsessing, then getting rid of it could be good.
I think it’s really interesting that both gifts Abeille received are white and glowy. And yet the one she keeps closer to her is the flower, from Miel. Even subconsciously, she keeps things from him close and distances the things from her mother.
Glowy plant. Glowy… water? I feel like maybe I should recognize it, but I don’t. I only recognize the plant.
Her mother gave it to her! Its ice from Pasques, their home planet
That’s the snow her mother gave her.
It’s never melting snow from Abeille’s home planet. The evil witch gave it to her in hopes of using it to manipulate her emotionally.
It’s a snow globe of sorts her mom gave her.

next strip….drops it out the window to shatter.
love the touch of miel covered in blanket and only abeille’s legs are
Come on little spoon! <3
Funny how he’s all wrapped up in her apartment while she’s chilling in her sleep gown. Happy medium on the temperature issue

I give her even odds that she’s going to dump the snow out and throw the lamp away. It was not given in the same spirit as the skates.
At least they’re smart enough to use condoms, if that’s what those are on the endtable….
I think those are frequency devices, like you can see here: https://lovenotfound.com/comic/ch02-p03a/ But, yeah, good idea. Or the two with a child could be nice.

+1

I don’t know. It always had a droop to it. The others we’ve seen did too…I think it’s just the shape of the plants.
I think it’s supposed to be monotropa uniflora or something resembling it; if you Google it, it has a very similar shape.

I hope she keeps it as well. Not in memory of her mother, but of her past and the things that were happy in it.

Well, clg… that’s a very interesting set of points.

Wow, the shading on this page is lovely.
