As someone with a parent that has given me things/paid for something with the unspoken agreement of ‘now you will owe me something emotionally’ this gives me chills
Yup, she signed the devil’s contract with the “terms and conditions” part left blank for now… Or more like signed a blank cheque, if I understand how those work correctly
As the inviters, Abellle’s parents should be the ones to pay for the food, as dining etiquettes goes, especially since Abeille have to restrict her spending right now. Amaryllis is behaving friendly enough toward her daughter for now while Mallow is being genuine about all of this. However, like everyone else here, I can tell this is just part of a show for Amaryllis’ own motives. As soon as she starts not getting things going her way again, her true colours will show through.
That smirk on Amaryllis’s face in that final panel says it all. Abeille’s too distracted by her mother’s offer to realize what’s going on. Mallow, who wants to believe the best of everyone, clearly isn’t equipped to handle this situation. *smh*
I both can’t wait and dread to see how this will end.

Ugh.
I hate when people hold “gifts” over your head and I feel that’s what Amaryllis is about to do.

Ooh, I don’t trust this!

Yeah I am with the other commenters here. I am waiting for that boot to drop and I hope Abeille’s dad steps up for his daughter for once.

Glad I’m not the only one who just got a little nauseous… Ugh.

I can’t tell if Mallow is making that face in the first panel about the prices or about something else.
