  1. Aww, Amaryllis, you shouldn’t!

    No, really. Feckin’ stop.

    1. Amaryllis seems to think that Abeille would care more about missing out on a “promotion” in something she enjoys with envy over praising her friend for her efforts. The mother is at least trying to be more informed about her daughter’s past lifestyle; just would be better that she wasn’t undercutting Abeille’s new life with it.

  2. And you deserve every one of those compliments. Still not swayed in the slightest.

  3. I love this comic even if I’m not an usual commenter. But…
Holy shit this woman, the manipulation is so damn blatant. MAYBE ABEILLE WAS THE BEST PLAYER but we! See! What’s going on! And meanwhile Mallow is focused on his food :((( Abeille, get away from this placeeee

  4. I don’t know exactly why but somehow her trashing Daisy to praise Abeille, seems gross to me (I can’t think of another word other than gross).

Like I know she NEVER liked Abeille playing sports, so that compliment alone seems pretty shady, but her basically saying “Daisy sucks, it should be you in that position” seems sinister to me on another level, and it bothers me that I don’t exactly know why or how to accurately put it into words.

  5. “Aren’t you jealous, Abeille? Doesn’t the idea of that eat away at you because you’re not getting the gloooory? Oh…wait…you’re a far better person than I am and you’re capable of being happy for others? Witchcraft…”

  6. What pisses me off the most is that Amaryllis probably doesn’t actually MEAN her compliment, she’s just using it to try and manipulate her daughter.

  7. So, even if the former gestures had been honestly nice, this one isn’t – it was shown, that Amaryllis hated that Abeille played with the Snow Sirens. Every compliment in this case is a twisted one.

  8. Come on Mallow! You are a far better person than Amarylis and surely you’ve noticed how she builds up people only to tear them down? I bet she does it to you too. How many times are you going to watch her throw your daughter under the bus? If you stick with her, when Abeille decides to go no-contact with her to protect her mental health you’re going to wind up being cut off too. You’ve been the only one to accept her, she doesn’t need to lose her father as well when no-contact starts.

  9. Ooh, Mallow, do keep this up!

    1. Where he lacks a backbone, he makes up for morale; potent bane to the narcissistic control freak of the group.

  10. Do they have to eat more processed foods over fresh on their frozen colony? Having seen some of the food that Eyebright’s cafeteria have served: gooey or mashed edibles that hosed out into bowls. Although the meats are probably easier to gather from the local fauna.
