   This has been triggering me worse every time Amaryllis tri3s to gaslight and manipulate Abeille. But I can’t stay away from them-the last few pages. I know that if Abeille contacts Daisy she’ll find out that Amaryllis lied like a rug. There’s no way she contacted Daisy to get her uniform ready. It’s not possible based on A’s actions, and the pierced earrings are just another way of showing how little she knows or cares to know about her own daughter. Yeah, I had an Amaryllis in my life. I wish I’de had the guts to stick to no contact after her appalling treatment of my kids. I’m so glad you resisted the temptation to have Amaryllis see the error of her ways. Narcissists never do.

   Abeille’s mom reminds me of my own big time, my stress dreams often involve her like this, with her meaner and more monstrous than she really is, but it clearly invokes the fight or flight instincts of just being around them sometimes, even when they are seemingly being “nice” or doing something “good”. You’ve captured the complexity of the situation so well! Even though it ties my tummy in knots, I feel for Abeille, and it is weirdly validating to see that in media I love!
