  1. A thoughtless gift that’s been disguised as a thoughtful one. Buying Abeille “expensive things” right now like the meal and a gift she can’t even use won’t butter her up when Amaryllis is the one that caused her daughter and her partner to lose their jobs.

  2. Uh….huh. did she actually forget?

  3. I feel like the slight is personal. She knows her daughter’s ears aren’t pierced.

  4. Ahahh. I think I see what’s up here
She obviously didn’t forget. I don’t think this is thoughtlessness either. I bet Ammy put a *lot* of thought into this gift, actually.
Good bait requires planning and thought, after all.
Thankfully, Abeille could just resell these later and hopefully start some funding for her future with Miel! For now… Buckle up

    1. Yeah like my maternal host beast giving me perfume every year for Christmas and birthday, I told her any fragrance but Wind Song, which I really dislike so guess what she gave me twice a year.

  5. The perfect gift for…
*Miel* has pierced ears, doesn’t he??

    1. Well, Abeille should be able to get her earlobes pierced now, shouldn’t she? It’s not like she really needs her mother’s permission now, does she?

  6. Kudos for being well-mannered about it, Abeille. At least she isn’t giving into justifying her mother’s worst assumptions about her, despite the lack of true sincerity behind Amaryllis’ shallow gestures. You can play along with your mother’s “game” until you’re ready to reaffirm your breakaway from her; show her that you can’t be bought back and hand back the earrings when she tries to sway you with them.

  7. Mom says MANY things that upset her. Some balance is overdue.

  8. When I first saw Amaryllis’s purse, I thought it looked bee like. She’s bringing the hive to transfer to the new queen.

Bumble Bee earrings with their stingers. How cruel. It’s a game obviously. I don’t know how much Amaryllis realizes that.

Of course, she didn’t forget that she forbade Abeille from getting pierced ears. That Abeille didn’t get them pierced later says something.

“If I say something, I’ll probably upset her”. I think that’s true and it would do nothing good to upset her. Abeille is here to honor Abeille and her parents. So, nothing is lost by letting Amaryllis play her games, so far.

  9. This is giving me so much anxiety, foreseeing the argument points coming into play.

    1. UGH she even looks mean when she’s SMILING. I’m with you, the mom puts me all on edge every time. X_X

  10. I am so excited for the showdown.

  11. It’s pretty much the same with every relationship. The glass mask one holds up can be shattered. We never actually know each other. Eye to eye, forehead to forehead, we are different. The first step would be to be honest. I admire your kinship. I wish to follow you closely, as I love you.

I’m still worried about what Amaryllis might have planned.

  12. I’d turn that to my advantage!
“Oh these are perfect for Miel. He’s definitely the honey of my life and I’m so glad you approve my new life here. That’s what you meant by supporting me, of course! Since I don’t have pierced ears, per your request, it’s obvious you meant this for my Miel, my adorable honeypot. I love them.”

  13. AAAAAHHHHH!
    THE TRAP THICKENS!
    AAAAAHHHHH!

  14. Don’t play a player. Look at that face, she hates herself. She hates herself for hurting her child. How deep should we go? Am is the child and Abeille is the mom. Come on now. Cut the cord.

Abeille will always love her mom. Doing what someone says isn’t loving them. Mom is a difficult child. To love is not to please. I love you mom. I’m not playing this game any more. You are always welcomed in my heart where you live.
