  1. I’m guessing the “Kanpai” is from Botan. I’ve tried using Google Translate to figure out its meaning and under Japanese, it means cheers.

  2. I just noticed that Botan’s vest is basically red strings. Don’t know if it was intentional or not, but it’s a nice touch considering he’s the one who brought it up.

  3. I really REALLY love this comic and the ways it makes you think about the issues. I remember back when my DD gave birth to our first DGS at home (Carrying on a maternal tradition) She had led a rather checkered existence for a few years prior to getting pregnant and settling down. The midwife was holding our grandbaby in a tub of warm water and invited me to come replace her. I hesitated for a second, since my hands are always torn up and chapped, and I was wondering if this precious mite had AIDS and if I might catch it from him- then I went ahead and placed my hand under him, having decided in that instant that if the world had become a place where we were afraid to touch one another I would be part of the rebellion since touch expresses love so much.

  4. It’s been a while, but did her parents leave? I can’t remember Arabella standing up to them

  5. @Savannah: I did some backtrack re-reading. Abeille’s parents haven’t left Monotropa at this time. Her mom mentioned they’re only there for a couple more weeks around the ice rink scene after Abeille and Miel were fired, though.

  6. I love this so much. Everyone is together and enjoying time just getting to be themselves with no worries of what others think.

I feel like Abeille needed this. She needed to know that she had a support group outside her family. She has Miel, his moms, and now ALL these people who want to see her and Miel succeed. It’s beautiful. Tonight they celebrate. Tomorrow she may need to confront her family, and in the future she and Miel will getting new jobs… but they have a bright future together. <3
