No surprise that the dream will be interrupted when Abeille asks the vital question of ‘how’? That’s always the biggest one when it comes to handling toxic parents. You KNOW what they’re doing is wrong, but you don’t know how to handle it. I don’t know if Evette has time to answer it, but I imagine the lines would something like, “You’ll find the answer yourself”, I could be wrong though.
That’s a very helpful observation! Thanks. Their age changing feels like a dream. Abeille is talking to the Evette that lives in her heart, figuratively. That is what my mind does when I think about something in childhood and imagine what someone I knew thinks about the incident, to them I am still that child, and then they age when I imagine what they think about something current related to them.
Through out the story Abeille tries not to involve anyone else with Amaryllis, which is very sweet. Miel doesn’t pry into Abeille’s personal life, except when colliding with it (tee hee). He supports her where she wants support. He’s a gentle man.
Where I worry about Abeille feeling she has to handle Amaryllis entirely on her own, she and Meil will handle it together, I hope, with Abeille getting the support that Miel sees she wants, and without interrogating her with worries. I hope I can be that gentle and that aware some day.

I adore how they age throughout this conversation. Such an amazing touch!
