You know, as much as I absolutely love Mallow being assertive and supportive, it would not serve Abeille for him to stay. Letting her grow means giving her space. Also, I’m pretty sure he wants to face Amaryllis. Maybe he wants to see if she can be redeemed, or maybe he just needs to stand up for himself and have his own redemption. Either way, he’s got to leave.
If Mallow would’ve hypothetically chose to stay behind with Abeille, Amaryllis’ would likely go on raving at him with something like, “so you can have our daughter all to yourself, but I can’t now,” as her defence. Mallow wouldn’t want to give his wife any excuses or leverage to spin this situation back into her favour to go back to undermine Abeille’s victory here. Returning back to Pasque with Amaryllis would be the kinder way of helping both his family members right now.
I don’t know that Abeille would be hindered by her father being around. Like… yeah, it might be a little weird at times, but that’s just family for you. If Mallow wants to stick around and actually be there for his daughter, I think they could figure out how.
Other characters in the comic have parents that are around without completely suffocating them, and I genuinely think Mallow could be like that, too. Like. Just because he’s on the same planet doesn’t mean he has to be all up in her business… it just means he wants to be in his daughter’s life, and the lives of any potential grandchildren.

It’s more that he needs to go with Amaryllis and deal with that fallout. I’ve seen what happens when a previously doormat-ish partner suddenly stands up against a narcissistic partner, and it is NOT pretty. If Amaryllis doesn’t have support or at least someone to rage against now that she’s lost control, she will going to come back in bad way at Abeille even from a distance. Mallow needs to serve as Ammy’s support and/or punching bag for the near future to ensure tat Abeille has any hope of actual freedom from her mother in the future.
I like the idea of Mallow changing his life around Abeille. But from the story, Mallow is a scientist on Pasque. That might mean he has obligations there. He is also in love with Amaryllis, I think.
Mallow says “fly Bumblebee”, I think he means: be free of your parents.
The first few steps in escaping are the hardest. relief comes in drips and drops to a drought-struck garden. the real danger is the flood that comes when the narcissist regroups. This is where Mallow needs to step up and get them off the planet quickly.
Pages like these reminds me they still do, in fact, live in a post-touch society. This is such a loving intimate moment for them, I just have to remind myself! And the background in the last panel really helps with that.
My phone doesn’t present a reply button for Sophie/Freja/Gaja/Fellis Dee. When would you give up on your child? Amaryllis is child like. I think Abeille has the perfect reaction. I love you mom. I am going to be free and love every one I meet.
Mallow though. I know man. I don’t think there is an obvious answer.
Maybe eventually Mallow will spread his own wings and fly. I agree with other commenters that he needs to see things through with Amaryllis, but hopefully he’ll either part ways with her (if she doesn’t miraculously become a kinder person) and find his own footing. I like the idea of him moving to a different planet to work as a reputed name there in tundra-planet ecology/geology/whatever he does, though it would be a difficult transition.
The next button not working so I can’t comment under the most recent page is KILLNG ME. I need to scream this was all so good and such a long time coming!!!!!

I’m pretty sure that in their minds, they’re bear-hugging each other with true affection. Real damn proud of you, Abeille and Mallow here too!
David
Well, it is not like you do it once and are done… But a solid first step.

I know it’s not common in this world but I really Abielle and her dad to hug so bad 😭

Mallow was the MVP here. Amaryllis knew she couldn’t control Abeille anymore and once Ama lost her support, she was outnumbered.
Sophie
I wonder if Mallow is going to tell Abeille, and then Amaryllis that he’s not going back to Pasque.

The moms are already family I think.
Maybe Abeille and Miel are going to Doublefleur.
Tiffany

I’m really hoping for a full-page Abeille hugging a startled Mallow.
